Guidelines on Vitamins and Mineral Food Additives have been adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission as a new global standard at a meeting in Rome in July 2005. They use as a basis for restrictive EU directive on food additives and require the establishment of stringent restrictions regarding the use of vitamins and minerals.
